The 78 Blend
Pairs well with
Dark Roast Coffee Blend from Brazil & Colombia
The 78 is the deepest cut in our Turntable Collection — three blends named for the three speeds of a record player, where the 33 spins lightest, the 45 sits in the middle, and the 78 brings the full-bodied finale. This is our dark roast: a blend of washed and natural process South American coffees from Brazil and Colombia, built for people who want a rich cup that never crosses into burnt.
Tasting Notes
Brown sugar, roasted nuts, and dark chocolate — creamy body, low acidity, and a smooth, clean finish that makes it dangerously easy to pour a second cup.
How We Roast It
Dark roasts fail when they trade flavor for char. We take the 78 dark the patient way: a stretched Maillard phase builds layers of caramelized sweetness before the roast deepens, and we keep development tight so the Brazilian chocolate and Colombian roundness survive the journey. The result is dark-roast body with sweetness at the center — not smoke. (Curious about the method? We wrote about the three phases of roasting on the blog.)
How to Brew It
The 78 shines as everyday drip and French press, stands up beautifully to milk, and pulls a rich, classic espresso. Brew it with the same water and gear we use and it'll taste just like it does at the bar.
