Competition is an important part of our roasting philosophy.  Regular production roasting can dull the desire to make the best coffee possible.  In addition to continuous learning and research, we regularly compete in The US National Coffee Roasting Championship, The Golden Bean North America, and other various coffee competitions.  Most recently we won the best drink category in the Taste of Martin County.  This adds to our two bronze medals at the Golden Bean North America as well as many other accolades.



In 2019 we submitted two coffees to the Golden Bean, North American Competition held in Tennessee. We submitted two different roasts of the same coffee. A red honey processed, bourbon from Columbia. We were fortunate to have won a bronze medal for each profile we submitted. The Golden Bean North American Competition is held annually, and consists of the best roasters in the United States, as well in Mexico and Canada. In 2019, there were over 1,400 entries.
