Belgian Beer Bar in Stuart, FL
Coffee all morning. Belgium all evening. The Roasted Record is a full Belgian beer bar in downtown Stuart, Florida — and every beer on our taps is Belgian. No domestics. No light lagers. No exceptions.
Trappist ales, Flanders reds, tripels, saisons and fruit lambics, all on draft and poured into the proper glassware. It is still the best-kept secret about this place: we are a coffee roastery and a record store, and there are Belgians on tap until nine.
What’s on Tap
Taps rotate, so check the board when you are in. Here is what has been pouring lately:
- Delirium Tremens — 8.5% · strong golden ale, bright and spicy
- Houblon Chouffe — 9% · Belgian IPA, tripel backbone with a big hop punch
- Rodenbach Grand Cru — Flanders red, oak-aged, sour and sweet at once
- Duchesse de Bourgogne — the classic Flemish red; cherry, balsamic, silk
- Duvel 6,66 — a softer, hoppier Duvel
- Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer — Het Anker’s imperial dark, rich and warming
- Chimay Cinq Cents — Trappist tripel, peppery and bright
- De Garre — the Bruges tripel; deceptively smooth for its strength
- Liefmans Peach — 3.8% · light, fruity, best over ice
- Lindemans Framboise — 2.5% · raspberry lambic, sweet-tart and jammy
New to Belgian Beer? Start Here
Belgian beer is less a style than a whole tradition, and the range on our board is wider than most people expect. A rough map:
Trappist Ales
Brewed inside a monastery, by or under the supervision of monks, with the proceeds supporting the community. There are only a handful of authentic Trappist breweries in the world. Chimay Cinq Cents is the easiest way in — a tripel that is peppery and bright rather than heavy.
Flanders Reds
Aged in oak, soured by wild microbes, and closer to a wine than to anything most Americans call beer. Rodenbach Grand Cru and Duchesse de Bourgogne are the two benchmarks, and we keep both. If you like a dry cider or a natural wine, start here.
Tripels & Strong Golden Ales
Deceptive beers. Pale, elegant, effervescent — and frequently nine percent. De Garre, the Bruges house tripel, is the classic example: it drinks like something half its strength. Treat it with respect.
Lambics & Fruit Beers
Spontaneously fermented with wild yeast from the air of the Senne valley, then often refermented on fruit. Lindemans Framboise at 2.5% and Liefmans Peach at 3.8% are low in alcohol, sweet-tart, and — in a Florida summer — absolutely correct over ice.
Nitro Cold Brew & Nitro Tea, Made Here
The only things on draft that are not Belgian are the ones we make ourselves. Our nitro cold brew is brewed from coffee we roast in this building and poured on nitrogen — cascading, sweet, and thick without a drop of dairy. Beside it, our own nitro tea, same treatment. We also pour a selection of wines by the glass.
Belgians & Beats
Every so often we set the turntables up out front under the sign, pour Belgians, and play records until late. It is called Belgians & Beats, the patio fills up, and it is probably the best argument we have for what this building is actually for. Dates go out in our newsletter and on our vinyl nights page.
